The Bulls now will head back to the United Center for Game 6 on Friday. With their backs against the wall, they will hope to extend their season to at least a Game 7 in Boston.
If there is any time for Hoiberg to really shake things up, it will be on Friday. He has shaken things up already, getting solid production from Canaan and even Anthony Morrow oddly enough. Hoiberg has made some adjustments that make sense but he just doesn’t have the right tools on the roster to really turn the tide on the Celtics.
Nikola Mirotic playing well would be a huge relief. He’s about impossible to predict so it doesn’t even seem necessary to guess. If Bobby Portis could and 19 points like he did in Game 1, the outlook on any of these games is drastically different. The Bulls are going to need bench guys to show up, at this point, it’s tough to think that will happen.

On a final note, Robin Lopez had 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field. He continues to be a force in the paint that all Bulls fans should appreciate. He’s the opposite of the upcoming archetype that is NBA big men, but he still manages to have a positive impact on the game and is always a joy to watch.
