The Bulls squeak into the playoffs

Well Chicago Bulls fans worldwide will get to watch this team for at least four more games, possibly more. And to be honest, I’m not sure that’s a good thing. The Bulls have certainly been more fun to watch as of late, but should exit the playoffs pretty early.

Chicago will play the Boston Celtics in the first round. Chicago and Boston split the season series, though the Bulls were helped to one of their victories by a dubious foul call on Marcus Smart. More than anything it will be fun to watch Boston fans continue to undervalue Butler.

Wade’s return for the playoffs makes for an interesting case. The Bulls hit their stride without him, spacing the floor better and giving Butler some needed space to operate in. Wade’s playoff experience should help Chicago in theory, especially in end of game situations.

This series should not last any more than six games, but I fully expect the Bulls to win one game simply because of Butler. He’s shown time and time again the ability to put this team on his back, and I expect nothing less in the playoffs.

The Bulls are back in the playoffs and are underdogs to the Celtics. I remember another series just like that, not too long ago. Only that time Chicago had a clear future with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah blossoming, and this time the Bulls are more lost than Harold and Kumar looking for a White Castle.
