There is less than two weeks left in the regular and the Chicago Bulls are currently the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Let that wash over your body, soak it in. The Bulls have been good and it’s time to hand out grades for last week.

I legitimately feel surprise when I see the Bulls on a winning streak, passing teams in the playoff standings. A week ago, it felt like this team might be ready to give up on this season, bumping up the lottery ladder just a little bit. Now, it’s a different story.

There were a couple of usual suspects that helped Chicago get back on track, both Nikola Mirotic and Jimmy Butler played fantastic basketball. In fact, Butler earned Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors for his efforts.

It’s kind of amazing what this team can do when Dwyane Wade is out of the picture and Rajon Rondo is actually trying to be good at basketball.

The season only has five games left over the next 10 days and during that time, the Bulls are going to need great grade performances from some of the players who didn’t put up the numbers last week, but they’ll be even more reliant on the continued outstanding play of Jimmy and fiery-hot, albeit streaky shooting of Nikola.
