NBA Trade Deadline 2017: Send Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly willing to take on less than favorable contracts in return for draft picks. In response, the PAE team has a very special offer for Mark Cuban.

Dear Mark Cuban,

We heard from ESPN’s Marc Stein that your Dallas Mavericks are willing to take on bad contracts if they come with draft picks, and we’d like to give you an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something truly special. His name is Rajon Rondo, and he’s the solution to all of your problems.

Rondo has been tearing it up for the Bulls this season on and off the court, and we think he could be a valued addition to your roster, in addition to the 2017 second round pick that would accompany him. The great thing about Rajon is that he really makes his presence known from day one, whether that’s on the floor or in the locker room.

Rondo has one of the most complete games in the NBA. He can pass, he can…well, he’s got some sick headbands, and you’re going to love him. Rajon likes to think of himself as a coach on the floor, and we think that spells great things for his relationship with coach Rick Carlisle. They both love getting into the nitty gritty right? There’s no way that will turn into anything but a life long friendship if you ask us.

Now, we know that Seth Curry has been a cute little story for you guys, and he’s done his best keeping the point guard position afloat, but wouldn’t you rather have a point guard who’s four years older, makes over four times more money, AND isn’t nearly as skilled? Look at the way the league is trending Mark. If you’re a point guard that can’t shoot, the opportunities are endless! You don’t want to get left on the wrong side of history.

We think Rondo will really turn the season in another direction for you guys, but just to make it a sure thing, we’re also willing to throw in a pick to sweeten the deal. But really, this is a steal of a deal for Dallas. What’s the worst that could happen? He singlehandedly torpedoes your chances of any success and you have to essentially banish him from your property to keep him from making things any worse? That just sounds crazy.
