Steve Kerr now has six rings after his Golden State Warriors bunch won their first title in 40 years this past Tuesday night, but he’s remembered most for his second ring.
Kerr’s free-throw line jumper with five seconds left in Game 6 of the 1997 NBA Finals gave the Bulls a 88-86 lead, while Pippen stole the ensuing inbounds pass from Utah and “The Drive for Five” was complete.
Despite only taking five shots in the entire game, Kerr was ready to be called upon if Jordan wasn’t able to break the tie himself.
