The battle of the behemoths is happening much earlier than everyone anticipated. Nearly seven months later, the two teams will in fact be meeting in the playoffs – just not when they were expected to and not at the level they were expected to be at. For the first time in a long time, the Bulls will be the team with a fully healthy roster – including Derrick Rose.
The Cavaliers will be without Kevin Love for the entirety of the series after having surgery to repair his dislocated shoulder, and J.R. Smith will miss Games 1 & 2 due to suspension.
Nonetheless, as we saw in the first game of the series, this will almost certainly be one of the most exciting match-ups of this year’s post-season. It features key positional match-ups at nearly every position with the point guard battle being possibly the most exciting/important of any series.
Derrick Rose and Kyrie Irving put on a show in Game 1 with the former MVP besting the FIBA World Cup MVP in the wins column. It’ll be exciting to watch each floor general adjust in Game 2 and beyond.
Here’s a position-by-position preview for the remainder of the Bulls vs Cavs series.
