4. Jimmy Butler was a huge upset as the Bulls player Twitter would fall in love with

This could just be renamed the “Nate Robinson Game 4 against the Nets” award, but even so, the Bulls have had at least three other guys that I would have pegged to dominate Twitter before Butler. There was the national return of Derrick Rose since his meniscus tear, which seemed like the favorite to dominate the Internet going into the game. Mirotic was another great pick to own Twitter. He is a 6-foot-10, feisty European hairball of pump fakes that has a habit of making huge 3-point shots late in games.

  • The best thing about Mirotic is he has complete freedom to take as many bad 3s as he wants without the fear of getting benched. The Bulls won’t bench him, because they want to show off how good of a pick he was so everyone forgets how bad of a pick their other rookie, Doug “DNP” McDermott was. The good news is that McDermott still has room to grow. Oh wait, he is older than Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. Yikes. And they traded two first round picks for McDermott, one of whom, Jusuf Nurkic, is being described as the Nuggets’ hope. Double yikes.

My money as the Bulls player to own twitter was actually on Aaron Brooks. He is under 6-feet tall and makes incredible shots, and that usually is the blueprint for America’s affection.

But Jimmy Butler won both nights on the Internet. How can you not love that guy? I just thought since he has been so great all season, most people knew what he could do and he wouldn’t shock anyone. He didn’t do anything too special, but I severely underestimated America’s affinity for Butler puns.

    JIMMY. EFFING. BUTLER.
