More from Bulls News

With NBA game action still months away, summer is a frustrating time period for Bulls fans everywhere. Little timely news with value occurs this time of year, leaving fans thirsting for the beginning of the next NBA season. That is why it is a perfect time for me to present you with the top five most memorable Bulls playoff games in the last ten years!

Before compiling this list, it is important to present the criteria that I used to make these choices. For starters, playoff games that the Bulls lost weren’t considered in these rankings. From my perspective, playoff losses are more forgettable than memorable; no matter how exciting the game was. A Chicago Bulls playoff win could garner standout consideration for making this list if it met at least one of the following criteria.

Playoff games that went into overtime or ended in buzzer beaters are very likely to rank high on this list. In the same regard, games that were tightly contested throughout and came down to the wire are also rated highly in these rankings. In addition, circumstance plays a large role in determining how memorable a game was. This category has a large sampling of factors including the round in which the playoff game took place, what number game in the series the game was, as well as general circumstance surrounding the game. General circumstance includes the meaning of the game from an organizational perspective as well as the way the team went about securing the win. A particularly relevant example of this criterion was the Bulls Game 7 victory against the Brooklyn Nets in 2013. This game was the culmination of the battle that this short-handed Chicago Bulls team went through to win that playoff series. If the extenuating circumstances that surrounded this game were less dramatic it could have been left off of this list.

In terms of the circumstance criterion, for each game that made the list, I will highlight how this game met this criteria in the section entitled ‘The Situation’.

Another important factor that I used to come up with this list was the final score. Games that were tight throughout, even if they didn’t end with a buzzer beater, were more likely to make the list than blowout victories.

The most highly rated games had a combination of two or more of the above criteria. .

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the five most memorable Chicago Bulls playoff games in the last ten years!
