Bon Voyage Joakim Noah

AUTHOR: | IN: Bulls | COMMENTS: None Yet

The wave of NBA players ditching the States to play basketball abroad is becoming a tsunami. The Bulls have already lost Brian Scalabrine to the Euro-Leagues and now their bow tied big man is going continent hoping as well. Center Joakim Noah arrived in France on Monday to report to the French National team, who which he will be playing for during this summer’s European Championships in Lithuania. Noah declined an offer to do this very thing last summer as he holds dual U.S and French citizenship. Unlike the Derron Williams’ of the basketball world, Noah’s Euro play won’t interfere [...]

NBA Lockout: MJ’s Chance to Shine(again)

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA Lockout | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

With the league about to end it’s first official week locked out, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of scrambling for a solution. The players want to keep their money and the owners want it back while the agents stare down the league and the players union. When did I walk into a Mexican standoff Quentin Tarantino style? Hopefully the lockout doesn’t actually end like a Tarantino standoff with everyone dead, but as of now that’s not an option that is off the table. But there may be one person who can bridge the gap between the players and [...]

NBA Lockout: Blame the Player Agents

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA Lockout | COMMENTS: None Yet

NEW YORK — With the NBA lockout entering it’s first weekend and about to end it’s first official day, panic is beginning to set in for many around the NBA world. Feverish flashbacks to the 1998-99 season, which didn’t start until February of ’99, have been coursing through the cerebral landscapes of fans, players ans owners alike. But another lockout should be coming to mind as it could relfect how this current NBA lockout may go. That lockout isn’t the NBA’s or the NFL’s, it’s the 2004-05 NHL lockout which nearly crippled the sport. The cost of the labor dispute between NHL [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Bulls Talk, NBA Lockout | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

CHICAGO – He’s a fan favorite in Chicago. Almost every game his name is chanted my thousands of fans no matter if he’s home or away. People make signs for him, customize jerseys and shirts and he will always have a special place in the hearts of Bulls fans. No it’s not Derrick Rose or Micheal Jordan. It’s the White Mamba himself, Brian Scalabrine. Ever since he arrived in Chicago, fans have had an odd attraction to the ginger forward. But his days in Chicago may be over. The 6’9″ Scalabrine is entering his eleventh year in the NBA and he knows he doesn’t have [...]

NBA Lockout: Is it the End of the NBA?

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA Lockout | COMMENTS: None Yet

NEW YORK — If you were betting against the NBA lockout occurring, get ready to pay up. The NBA and Players Union have failed to reach an agreement on a new CBA and the Owners have locked the players out. But now that it has happened, the question besides when will it end becomes what will be the damage report when all is said and done? Could this lockout really mean the end of the NBA as we know it? The answer to that question is actually yes. But probably not in the grim way a lot of people are predicting. [...]
