Chicago Bulls starting lineup #2
-Josh Giddey
-Coby White
-Matas Buzelis
-Patrick Williams
-Nikola Vucevic
Did Matas Buzelis do enough in Summer League to warrant consideration for the starting five? And would coach Donovan entertain the idea of bringing LaVine off the bench?
This might be the best way to balance the rotation, as it gets more size and defense into the starting five and more scoring into the second unit, where LaVine can run wild with Lonzo Ball against lesser defenders.
When healthy, LaVine is the Bulls’ best scorer, and they are also trying to showcase him for a future trade, so it’s unlikely they would bring him off the bench, but it’s something to consider, as a second unit with Ball, LaVine, Dosunmu and Smith would torch a lot of teams’ benches.
But if the Bulls are intent on using Giddey, White and LaVine in the starting five, they have other options to flank them.
