Every time things seem to be going well for the Chicago Bulls, it feels like another injury is waiting right around the corner. Down two of their three highest paid players for the majority of the season, the Bulls have had to fight and claw for every single one of their 22 wins this season. It doesn't seem like things will be getting any easier, as Patrick Williams now finds himself sidelined with a foot injury.
Ayo Dosunmu and Julian Phillips performed extremely well in Williams' absence, but I'm not so sure that Chicago can rely on sustained success from the pair. Pat's sheer size and defensive ability is something no one else on the roster boasts, so getting him back out on the court as soon as possible should be a priority for the Bulls.
Patrick Williams Injury Update for tonight’s Bulls vs. Raptors game
Williams was seen in a walking boot after Chicago's win over Portland, surely a bad sign when it comes to assessing the severity of his injury. Although Williams and the coaching staff remain adamant that this is not a significant setback, he will not be suiting up tonight against the Raptors. Head coach Billy Donovan maintains that this is just a precautionary measure, but it's certainly not very reassuring to see the fourth-year forward sit out a home game even after visiting the team doctors.
Toronto Raptors Injury Updates for tonight's game vs. Bulls
The Raptors will also be dealing with their own issues as R.J. Barrett is confirmed to be out and Immanuel Quickley is doubtful. These two have stepped their games up since being traded to Toronto from New York, so their presence will certainly be missed for the Raptors. Keep an eye on Jakob Poeltl, as the big man is listed as questionable, potentially granting Nikola Vucevic an easy mismatch if he decides to sit tonight's game out.
