The Nuggets usually go after plug-and-play role guys in this range, and Smith could be one as a 6-foot-11 forward who can shoot and has shown some versatility defensively. 

He shot just under 37 percent from long range on four attempts per game in his first season in the G-League and has the size and athleticism to be a versatile defender, though he needs work on that end. 

His size and shooting will play in the NBA and the Nuggets like big guys who can shoot.
