It’s not perfect, but a trade with the Warriors would work for the Bulls

There are things to like and dislike about this trade package for Chicago.

Andrew Wiggins also has three years left on his deal, so the Bulls would have the same amount of contract, just for less money, as he’s making a little more than half of what LaVine makes.

Looney could fill a backup big man role for one season, which is something the Bulls need, and Payton II is also on an expiring deal, so the Bulls would be getting off future money.

However, if the Bulls kept all of these guys, they’d have to cut other players and these three are good enough that it might still keep the Bulls off the bottom of the East.

The other option would be to cut one or all of them and eat the money (fat chance) and embrace the rebuild in full.

The Bulls are in a tricky spot, as they should want to tank and have to weigh any move with that in mind.

That said, this would free up plenty of future money and should be enough to ensure the Bulls keep their pick next season, so it would be a win for Chicago.
