The Chicago Bulls have chosen an offseason path with a familiar destination.

They’ve traded away veterans, which might lead you to think they were rebuilding, but have they done enough to truly get in the mix for Cooper Flagg?

There are still plenty of terrible teams in the Eastern Conference, so if the Bulls truly want to embrace the tank and kick off a rebuild for real, they still have more work to do on their roster.

Otherwise, they may be right back where they were last season, out of the playoff picture with no realistic chance at a top draft pick.

The Chicago Bulls need to trade Zach LaVine

Trading Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic would undoubtedly move the Bulls into full rebuild mode, as it would put all of their young players in more featured roles and almost guarantee Chicago keeps their top-10 protected pick in the loaded 2025 Draft.

With Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Patrick Williams, Matas Buzelis and a top-10 pick in 2025, the Bulls would have a nice young core to build around with a ton of future cap space to do it.

But finding a home for Zach LaVine hasn’t been easy given his injury history and the hefty sum remaining on his contract, but there may be one team just desperate enough to take that risk.

The Golden State Warriors lost one of the Splash Brothers this offseason and have done little to replace him and keep up with the crowded West that is the stronger conference and loaded with talent.

If they want to maximize Stephen Curry’s remaining years, the Warriors may have to take a chance.
