Best Zach LaVine trade the Bulls can make with the Lakers
D’Angelo Russell is already on the trade block, but the Lakers have a difficult decision to make. Do they add role players or a third star next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis? Things did not work with Russell Westbrook, but LA may go for another top-end talent.
Acquiring a star like LaVine means trading multiple role players to match salary. The Lakers could make it happen by flipping Russell, Rui Hachimura, and rookie Jalen Hood-Schifino for the two-time All-Star. The Bulls would want draft capital too, but the Lakers have just one first-round pick to offer. Here is their best package.
LaVine to Lakers
The Bulls would likely try to flip Russell for additional draft capital. Hachimura could play a role if Chicago decides to keep DeRozan and push for the playoffs in 2025. Chicago would get a distant first-round pick, but one with plenty of value.
The market for Zach LaVine has been slow to develop. His injury history and lack of playoff success certainly play a factor. Can the Chicago Bulls get a significant return for the two-time All-Star? Expect the front office to explore every avenue. It could be the first of many moves by the Bulls before the Feb. 8 trade deadline, so stay tuned for all the latest.
