Best Zach LaVine trade Chicago can do with the Warriors
The Warriors are 10-14 and already three games out of the final Play-In Tournament spot in the Western Conference. Stephen Curry remains elite, but his supporting cast is simply not good enough. Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins are struggling, and the Warriors need to make a move if they want to get back into the title race.
Chris Paul is making $30.8 million this season, but the team can let him walk in the offseason with no future obligation. The Warriors could look to flip him and some of their young talent for another key piece. Zach LaVine may not be the perfect fit in the Bay Area, but figures to be one of the best players available before the trade deadline.
If the Bulls attempt to execute a retool on the fly, Chris Paul can still make plays and run an offense. The 38-year-old is an all-time great and still has plenty to offer. Jonathan Kuminga is a 6’8 forward who is scoring 12.0 points in 20.7 minutes per game in Golden State. Could the former lottery pick blossom in an expanded role? Chicago would love to find out.
The Warriors must play better if they are going to have any chance at contending this season. Declines from Thompson, Wiggins, and Draymond Green have been apparent so far. Can LaVine inject some youth and scoring into their core? The Dubs must have every option on the table at this stage.
