Adama Sanogo deserves a roster spot

Sanogo is the opposite of Phillips. He is a throwback that might not fit in today's NBA. Then, you watch him play and his impact is very noticeable. It has been just two seasons since he won an NCAA Championship and was named the Most Outstanding Player in the tournament. He has continued his success professionally with a strong season for the Windy City Bulls where he averaged 20.4 PPG and 12.0 REB. This is not to forget his massive end of season performance against Washington Wizards last year, where Sanogo had a 20 point, 22 rebound effort. For the Summer League Bulls, Sanogo posted a respectable 15 points and nearly 9 rebounds in four games.

His weakness is that he is 6-foot-9, bulky and does not fit as nicely into the modern game. However, he has proven to be a productive assest at each level he has played. Smith and Vucevic (if not traded) will get most of the minutes with the big club, but the Bulls could do a lot worse than having Sanogo as your third big on the bench. He does not have much left to prove at the lower levels, maybe his game does not fit with the Bulls or modern NBA. If that is the case, hopefully, he can find a comfortable spot overseas.
