11th-Best may not be good enough for Bulls according to NBA guru

Can Josh Giddey adapt?

Giddey is a solid player but I don’t think anyone would argue that he’s a superstar you can build a title contender around.

The Bulls need star power and will have a chance to add some over the next several seasons. What happens to Giddey then?

If he’s still just a guy who can create but not do much else, can he play second fiddle to a better player who commands the ball more often? That was the problem in OKC and it’s fair to ask if the same will happen if the Bulls add a better player who demands a higher usage rate than Giddey.

There is little doubt that Giddey will put up big numbers next season for the Bulls, but can he play a meaningful role as the 2nd or 3rd option on offense? That was the problem he faced in OKC.

Giddey is a calculated risk for the Bulls given his age and contract status, but he’s very young, has already shown high-end talent and has time to improve.
