The Chicago Bulls have finally found the perfect trade destination for Coby White in the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Wolves have asked about White's trade availability. It could be a great way for the Bulls to take advantage of the Wolves' need for a point guard and retool before they have to pay White a huge contract.

Wolves could offer the best return for Coby White

Not only is Minnesota desperate to find a long-term backcourt partner for Anthony Edwards, but they also have a mix of young players and veterans that could intrigue the Bulls. In an ideal world, the Bulls would want to receive some veteran leadership as well as young talent back for a player of White's stature. Cowley suggests that the Wolves can offer just that with the following trade:

In return, the Bulls would receive Donte DiVincenzo, Terrence Shannon Jr., and a 2026 second-round pick. This package will allow them to continue developing their current roster while also retooling with talented youngsters. It has the chance to be a win-win trade for both sides.

DiVincenzo is a proven winner in the NBA, making deep playoff runs with multiple franchises and winning a championship with the Bucks in 2021. He's also a solid defender, which the Bulls need at the guard position, and a fearless shooter who averages 38.0 percent from three for his career. He can provide some much-needed veteran leadership in the locker room and contribute positive minutes on the court.

On the other hand, Shannon Jr. gives the Bulls more potential for future growth. He's only in his second season and has flashed his incredible potential in important games, including a double-digit scoring effort in the Wolves' lone win over the Thunder in last season's Western Conference Finals. This season, Shannon's overall scoring has remained minimal at 4.7 points per game, but he's found his rhythm shooting the ball to the tune of 40.0 percent from deep.

Chicago fans are familiar with Shannon's potential from his college days. He holds the single-season scoring record for the University of Illinois and led the Fighting Illini to the Elite Eight in 2024. Perhaps a homecoming can reignite his scoring aggression and lead to a breakout.

Adding another draft pick in the trade is just a cherry on top. Although a second-round pick from a likely playoff team won't be a high selection, any bite of the apple is worthwhile for a team in need of a proper rebuild. The Bulls will have a tough decision to make with Coby White if he finishes the season on the team, but the Wolves might give them an ideal way out before then.
