Former Chicago Bulls center and Windy City Bulls G League star Adama Sanogo is leaving the NBA to sign a new contract and play with Trapani Shark in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A.
Sanogo, who was a starter and the leading scorer and rebounder on the University of Connecticut's National Championship team in 2023, played on a two-way deal with the Bulls last season. He'll have the opportunity to earn more minutes and a larger role with the Italian team, with an eye on returning to the NBA in the future.

The 6-foot-9, 245-pound big man, who signed with the Bulls as an undrafted free agent, only appeared in 13 games for Chicago over the last two seasons. He averaged 3.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 6.7 minutes per contest.
He showed plenty of promise during his time with the Windy City Bulls in the G League, however. Sanogo averaged 22.0 points and 12.7 rebounds in 30.3 minutes across 29 games in 2023-24, which earned him a spot on the All-NBAGL Third-Team.
In 11 G League games last year, the 23-year-old averaged 16.2 points and 10.0 rebounds.
Trapani Shark finished last season 22-8 and features what could be a familiar name to some fans in former NBA guard Langston Galloway, who played for seven different teams across eight seasons in the league.
