The Chicago Bulls (9-13) need a win in the worst way as they host the Golden State Warriors at the United Center. What is Coby White's status on the injury report, and will Bulls fans see Steph Curry suit up for the Warriors?
Chicago is riding a humbling six-game losing streak that's doused any sparks Billy Donovan's team may have had when it started the season 5-0. This skid has included losses to the 3-21 New Orleans Pelicans, the 7-16 Charlotte Hornets, the 6-17 Brooklyn Nets and the 5-18 Indiana Pacers ... twice.
Golden State, meanwhile, is 3-6 in its last nine contests. Curry hasn't played since Nov. 26, and the Warriors are 2-2 in those four games, although one of their losses came against the 22-1 Oklahoma City Thunder, and the other was a dramatic one-point road loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Losing is never great, but realistically, those two aren't morale killing defeats.
So who's in and who's out tonight in Chicago?
Coby White expected to play for Bulls, Kevin Huerter still out
Chicago has been pathetic on both ends of the floor over the last six games. The Bulls rank 22nd in scoring (112.5 points per game), 29th in offensive rating (107.8), 25th in turnovers (16.2), 25th in points allowed (121.2), 29th in net rating (-9.2) and are being outscored by an average of 8.7 points.
That last number is better than only the Wizards and Pelicans. The Bulls lost to New Orleans by 13 to kick off this string of defeats, and their most recent win was a buzzer-beating victory over Washington on Nov. 22.
White is dealing with another calf strain but is listed as probable against the Warriors. He's averaging a team-high 23.8 points per game, but, believe it or not (that's sarcasm), his team is 0-4 over his last four appearances.
Jimmy Butler probable, Draymond Green out for Warriors
Golden State is doing its best Bulls impression, entering tonight's game with a .500 record and squarely in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament race.
Head coach Steve Kerr has done a solid job of keeping his team afloat, though, as the Warriors have been without Curry for their last four games and without Jimmy Butler for their previous two.
Golden State is coming off a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers despite being down Curry, Butler, Draymond Green, Al Horford, De'Anthony Melton and Seth Curry. Per Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Butler will likely play in this trip back to the Windy City, though Horford and Green once again sit.
