Only one Chicago Bull surpassed the 20-point mark, and that Bull came off the bench. Ayo Dosunmu led all scorers with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three and 3-of-4 at the line. The 25-year-old guard also posted a team-best plus-12, capping an uber-efficient night.

Three games into the Bulls’ season, they’ve already had three different leading scorers. And it’s not just one player stealing the show each night—it’s been a collective effort.

The Bulls' offense is unpredictable as it is harmonic

Chicago’s balance has been on full display early. Seven players scored in double figures against both the Pistons and Magic, and eight reached that mark versus the Hawks. Against Atlanta, Dosunmu led the way with 21 points off the pine, followed by Josh Giddey (18), Nikola Vucevic (17), Matas Buzelis (16), Kevin Huerter (15), Tre Jones (14), Patrick Williams (12), and Isaac Okoro (10). All these players also knocked down at least one free throw and one three-pointer.

In a league often dominated by superstars, Chicago has embraced balance. No Bull took more than 14 shots against Atlanta, while on the other end, three Hawks accounted for nearly 60 percent of their team’s attempts.

The Bulls’ selflessness shows up beyond their scoring balance. Chicago tallied 33 assists against Atlanta, only one more than the Hawks, but three different Bulls dished out at least five, and eight recorded an assist. By contrast, Atlanta leaned heavily on Trae Young, who accounted for 17 of the team’s 32 assists. Jones and Vucevic recorded nine assists, and Giddey had five.

The Bulls are, by far, the most improbable undefeated team in the NBA. Few squads can rely on as many players to deliver in crunch time as Chicago. In fact, six Bulls scored in the final five minutes against Atlanta—a stretch that began with Chicago trailing 112-111. Billy Donovan has built a team comfortable with the ball in anyone’s hands, and that might be their most unguardable advantage.

To put a cherry on top, Chicago is 3-0 without last season’s leading scorer, Coby White. There are nights when White’s isolation scoring and transition burst are invaluable, but the Bulls’ newfound balance has reduced their reliance on him. Whether they can sustain this success without their best player remains to be seen. Still, if seven or eight Bulls keep reaching double figures, they’ll be nearly impossible to defend.
