There isn't any point in trading Nikola Vucevic at this point. Six years into his Bulls tenure, Vooch has been almost traded about 400 times, but nothing has ever materialized. Now, as his contract is expiring, he's in the thick of rumors once more.
It's probably not worth it anymore. Vucevic is still a productive (albeit frustrating) player in 2026, and it's hard to imagine that any team would be willing to sacrifice a draft pick of value or a player who could help this Bulls team right now.
There should be an award for players who are in trade rumors for five or more consecutive seasons and never actually get traded. That's gotta be a stressful life, when your employer might send you across the country any given day. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, especially a guy whose come to work and given commendable effort for five years.
Surprise Bulls might as well keep Vucevic
At this point, a Vooch trade would be so underwhelming that the (suddenly .500) Bulls may as well keep him around because a postseason appearance (whether fans want it or not) is likely in the cards.
Trading Vooch won't make the team bad enough to get them into real tanking territory — and it also won't net them a first-rounder. At this point, the Bulls will want to roll out the best team they possibly can for the rest of the season and in the (shield your eyes if you're queasy) play-in.
The relationship between Vucevic and Bulls fans has been a strange one. At first, he was awesome on a few teams that were trying to win. Then, he didn't make much sense on teams that were not trying to win. Now, he sort of makes sense as an above-average NBA big man on a team that is otherwise trying to see what it has with a bunch of young players. It's not the worst thing in the world to have some old guys on the team; I promise a Vuvevic trade would not net what a lot of fans think it would, so after years of near-trades, it's probably time to ride with Vooci Mane for one more season. You've survived worse as Bulls fans, I promise.
I'm like, 80 percent sure he's going to get traded an hour after I publish this article.
