3. Terry Taylor

The Bulls signed Taylor to a two-way contract in February after he was waived by the Pacers. The 6’5 forward earned just 36 minutes in the NBA, but he dominated the G League. Taylor averaged 20.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 34.3 minutes per game over eight contests with the Windy City Bulls. He put up 33.8 points each night over four games in the G League Showcase earlier in the season.

Chicago gave Taylor a qualifying offer at the start of the offseason to make him a restricted free agent, but there has been zero news about a new deal. The NBA expanded to three two-way contracts for each team this offseason, and it has been surprising to see Taylor unable to land a deal. He dominated the G League, but wants a standard NBA roster spot for next season.

Space is drying up across the league, but Terry Taylor has earned a chance. He may have to settle for another two-way contract, but that should provide an opportunity for NBA minutes. The 6’5 forward showed what he could do at the end of the 2021-22 season, and the 23-year-old has only improved since. He is just waiting for his shot.

Expect Taylor to land a contract with some team for the 2023-24 season. It may be a two-way deal or a chance to play overseas, but the 6’5 forward is too talented to be without a job at the start of the year.
