The verdict on this trade between the Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets

If the Chicago Bulls’ management were to say no to this hypothetical trade, everyone working in their front office should immediately be relieved of their duties.

As highlighted throughout the article, O’Neale is exactly the type of player that the Bulls would be wise to add. The team has been criticized for a lack of defense in recent memory, and trading for a stellar defender in O’Neale to play alongside excellent defenders like Torrey Craig and Alex Caruso would help fortify Chicago’s defense mightily. Having strong defenders like that alongside the trio of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic on offense could be the perfect recipe.

While this trade makes all of the sense in the world for the Bulls, it’s questionable if the Nets may even consider it. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Nets have been receiving plenty of calls on O’Neale’s availability, but they’re currently unwilling to move him for anything less than a first-round pick. That obviously means that two second-rounders will not get the job done. Still, it’s a hypothetical trade, and if it were to happen, it would be a home run for the Chicago Bulls.
