Free agent signings that will help Chicago Bulls’ rivals: 4. 76ers steal Pat Bev

The Bulls signed Patrick Beverley off the buyout market in February, and he immediately injected some life into their roster. The 6’1 guard brought his trademark toughness and tenacity as he returned home to Chicago. It resulted in the Bulls winning 14 of the 23 games with Pat Bev on their roster and securing a spot in the Play-In Tournament where they beat the Raptors but lost to the Miami Heat to end their season.

Chicago needs a point guard, and they had an interest in bringing Beverley back, but the soon-to-be 35-year-old wanted to chase a championship. Last season was just the second time in Mr. 94 Feet’s career that his team failed to reach the playoffs. Pat Bev wants to win. Despite all his postseason experience, the 6’1 guard is still searching for a ring.

James Harden has requested a trade, but signing Patrick Beverley ensures the Philadelphia 76ers will have a veteran guard that can help run their offense. Their roster is in flux and their offseason is impossible to judge until the Harden drama is resolved. Still, this is a strong signing with no downside for Philly.
