A week ago today, the Charlotte Hornets beat the Chicago Bulls, 111-96 in Charlotte, and today they’ll look to do it again, only in Chicago this time.

Since that game, the Bulls beat the Orlando Magic and lost to the Los Angeles Clippers to get to 23-27, while Charlotte beat the Miami Heat and lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Hornets are 15-37, 14th in the Eastern Conference.

Charlotte is tanking, but will they beat the Bulls again as underdogs on the road this time? Let’s take a look at the odds.

Hornets vs. Bulls odds, spread and total

Hornets vs. Bulls prediction and pick

Both teams shot the ball really poorly in the last matchup, Chicago went just 4-for-25 from 3 which is surprising considering the Bulls are ninth in 3-point percentage.

They’re also fifth in field goal percentage, and have a big advantage against the Hornets who are 25th in opponent field goal percentage. Chicago’s offense will need to be more effective this time around, because their defense has been good enough to win games.

Chicago is 12th in defensive rating for the season, and over their last 10 games, they are third. Yet, they’ve only gone 4-6 over that stretch of games.

That explains why the under is 5-1 in their last six games. I don’t think that trend is here to stay because in those six games, Chicago is playing with the fifth fastest pace. For the same stretch, Charlotte is third fastest. I think this game will get up and down a little bit and somebody has to hit shots this time around.
