Since the Timberwolves locker room incident, the Chicago Bulls have played very well, going 11-7 in that span and getting back into the playoff race. Several Bulls players have found their stride and are bringing a spark for Chicago as the All-Star break nears. The Big 3 in particular has been playing lights out offensively, while the bench players have been outstanding.
With this, I am starting my first installment of the Bulls Player Power Rankings here in week 15 of the regular season. Let’s review the top 5 Bulls players based on recent performances, starting with a handful of honorable mentions that just barely missed the list.
Honorable Mentions
8. Ayo Dosunmu: Has put together some solid games, shooting 52.9% from the field over the last 2 weeks. He has to be better with playmaking, however.
7. Derrick Jones Jr.: Providing tremendous versatility and shooting very efficiently. His play in the paint has been tremendous on both sides of the floor.
6. Alex Caruso: Bringing excellent defensive intensity but has struggled on the offensive end, at certain points. However, he has been able to lower his turnover numbers in recent games.
The Chicago Bulls have had a good stretch and these 5 players have been vital during this run.
Patrick Williams is averaging 12.4 points per game since January 1, shooting 47.9% from the field and 45.8% from long range. Williams has shown flashes of being the player that the Bulls had hoped for when drafting him #4 overall in 2020, but he has been relatively inconsistent.
His best game in recent memory came against the Brooklyn Nets, where he scored 22 points on just 8 shots and added 7 rebounds. Williams has shown brilliance in transition and getting to the basket, including this dunk against the Pistons.
Williams scored 18 points against the Hawks and had his first double-double of the season by adding 10 points. He shot 6-11 from the field and 2-4 from deep while also adding 10 rebounds. Overall, Williams has the tools necessary to take that next step, but he needs to string together consistent solid performances in order to do so.
