Big trade with Bulls and Suns: Laying out the trade

Popular trade machine website Fanspo occasionally shares trades that its users put together, and this one, in particular, has plenty to talk about. Both the Bulls and Suns would make significant changes to their cores to retool around their star shooting guards. Here is the trade:

This trade would give the Bulls a backcourt of Alex Caruso and Zach LaVine, with a frontcourt of Deandre Ayton and Jae Crowder. They could go big and start Patrick Williams or small and start Ayo Dosunmo. For the Suns, they would now have a second shotmaker in DeMar DeRozan and a stretch big to open up the court for Chris Paul’s forays into the paint that are now much slower and deliberate as he enters the twilight of his career.

The Suns have had three main problems this season, and two of them are unsolvable: they have been injured, and Chris Paul is showing his age. The one they can solve is the chemistry issue, as Deandre Ayton and the franchise clearly have friction, and Jae Crowder is sitting out entirely. This deal clears the air, adds a pair of high-character veterans, and puts a shot of adrenaline into their offense.
