Exiting a brutal first quarter of the 2022-23 season, the Chicago Bulls have suffered through the NBA’s second-hardest schedule to date. Fortunately, things should lighten up here soon, beginning with a pair of home games against the middling New York Knicks.

Don’t get too ahead of yourself though, as “middling” would be a compliment for this Bulls team that has been nothing short of “disappointing” thus far. This is precisely why winning against the visiting Knicks will be crucial toward leveraging long-term success and making a genuine run at the playoffs.

A victory tonight won’t come easy, however, as the Knicks enter the United Center on a four-game win streak and with Julius Randle looking like his former Most Improved Player self. Here’s how to tune into tonight’s action.

Projected Chicago Bulls Starting Lineup and Injury Report

  • PG: Alex Caruso
  • SG: Zach LaVine
  • SF: DeMar DeRozan
  • PF: Patrick Williams
  • C: Nikola Vucevic
  • IR: Out – Lonzo Ball; Questionable – Ayo Dosunmu; Probable – Alex Caruso

Before Alex Caruso went down with a brief injury, he earned a temporary bump up into the starting lineup. It remains to be seen if he’ll continue starting now that he has returned, but with Ayo Dosunmu questionable to play tonight, it may not even matter if the second-year guard from Chicago sits. This will likely be a decision announced closer to game time.

Game Predictions

After failing to capitalize on what should have been a relatively easy win against an injury-depleted Hawks team, it’s become extremely difficult to have any faith in this team’s abilities to win games even when they are favored on paper. That being said, Chicago’s solid 7-5 record at home and increasing levels of desperation to save the season have me leaning with the Bulls here — if only ever so slightly.

My Predictions (10-16)
