Entering a back-to-back against the Spurs and 76ers last week, I highly doubt the Chicago Bulls expected to drop both games. Resting Zach LaVine against the former left the Bulls undermanned against a Spurs team that is surpassing all expectations before also losing a close battle against Philadelphia. Hopefully, this upcoming back-to-back against the Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets will yield more fruitful results.
The season hasn’t gone quite as planned for Brooklyn either, as they’ve dropped five of their first seven games. Both the Nets and Bulls will be looking to climb back into a comfortable position in the Eastern Conference standings tonight, so expect a close contest all the way through.
Brooklyn and Chicago have split their last six meetings evenly, with the Bulls winning the season series 2-1 last year. Both rosters are loaded up on offensive firepower, so this should be an explosive night on national television.

Projected Chicago Bulls Starting Lineup and Injury Report
- PG: Ayo Dosunmu
- SG: Zach LaVine
- SF: DeMar DeRozan
- PF: Patrick Williams
- C: Nikola Vucevic
- IR: Out – Lonzo Ball, Andre Drummond
After a nasty fall suffered late in a game against the Spurs, Andre Drummond will miss his second consecutive contest tonight. It will be a challenge to replace the immense impact he’s had on the boards in his short stint with the Bulls, but it’s fortunate that Brooklyn lacks a frontcourt talented enough to take advantage of the absence of Drummond. Zach LaVine will also return to the court before sitting out tomorrow night’s game against the Hornets. Hopefully this strategy proves to be more successful than it was during Chicago’s back-to-back losses against San Antonio and Philadelphia.
Staff Predictions
Down Seth Curry and T.J. Warren, Brooklyn’s depth is already thin enough as is, and is only more suspect as Ben Simmons battles swelling in his left knee. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are obviously as good of a duo as you’ll find in the NBA, but if DeRozan and LaVine can keep things close, I believe Chicago’s superior bench will grant them an edge in the end.
Correct Predictions: (1-6)
