2. Dalen Terry

After being selected 18th overall, I doubt many expected Dalen Terry to immediately come in and make a big impression on this Chicago Bulls roster. After all, this team is clearly trying to win now and doesn’t have spare minutes to toss around to developing young players.

Terry won’t be waiting around for any handouts, however, as he seems intent on taking the minutes for himself. Averaging 6.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in four preseason games, Terry was a hyper-efficient swiss army knife out there on the court.

Although he’s a very team-oriented player at heart, what impressed me the most was his ability to flip the switch and take advantage of physical mismatches on offense. He didn’t shy away from difficult defensive assignments either and seemed to possess the aggressive demeanor we’ve been waiting for Patrick Williams to show us for two years now.

Terry may never be the most skilled player on the court, but much like the recently promoted Bulls forward Javonte Green, you can be sure nobody’s going to outwork him. It’s difficult to say just how many minutes Terry will receive right out of the gate, but I’d be willing that he’ll only earn a larger and larger role as the season progresses and he continues refining his skill set.
