When you turn on the television to watch the Chicago Bulls play this season, you better bring your binoculars, a magnifying glass, a list of the roster in one hand, and a headshot of each player in the other to the living room.  I say this because you are going to have a terribly difficult time identifying who is who on the court, as several of these Bulls players are in the process of producing sequels to the Parent Trap and Mary Kate & Ashley movies. There are so many comparable skillsets and traits of guys on this squad, it’s truly mind-boggling.

A lot of the Bulls’ point guards and shooting guards have the same type of game going. They like to deliver to each other, utilize their instinctual jabs, and show some sweet footwork to set one another up. Their passing abilities and court vision are not far off from being identical. Various guys on this team finish the same way in the open court as well. A variety of them share a pure, smooth stroke from the outside too. The inside players display terrific post moves underneath and have an explosive, beast-like mentality on both ends of the floor.

The destination is a long way away; however, this Bulls organization has the tools and ability to make its journey a memorable and exciting one. These preseason articles, polls, and rankings that have come out over the past couple of weeks are something for each Bull to really get their juices going, develop a chip on their shoulder, and have an internal laugh and streak going through their minds and body of, “watch this.”

Entering 2022-23 this is perhaps the most versatile Chicago Bulls roster we’ve witnessed in a very long time.

Head coach Billy Donovan and staff have to be pleased with their “Siamese Twin” roster this year, and have to just let the chips fall where they may. All-Star guard, Zach LaVine, says that a good word for their offense this year is, “random”. The Bulls coaches are probably doing cartwheels as they have returned Alex Caruso to the court this year after losing him last season. We are already seeing his tip-top athleticism, crafty passing, and creative finishes at the rim.

Zach LaVine has been battling a knee injury. He got a quality arthroscopic clean-up this past summer. The hope is to see him back to his normal self soon so he can stock up on some of the offensive load. Lonzo Ball is expected to be back in a few months. He just underwent arthroscopic debridement of his left knee on September 28. It’s going to be a beautiful sight to see him running the backcourt again for the Bulls. There are some newcomers that have been added to the Bulls roster that are already showing some signs of incredible talent and collaboration with the returners. It’ll be a fun season from the beginning to the end, no doubt about it.

The Bulls are 2-1 in the preseason as of today, October 8. They lost a close one in their debut to the New Orleans Pelicans, 125-129 before storming the court with full-blown energy against the Denver Nuggets and rallying to victory, 131-113. After a 115-98 second-half comeback against the Toronto Raptors, the Bulls conclude their four-game preseason run with a game against the Milwaukee Bucks next Tuesday, October 11.

The start of the season is right around the corner. The Chicago Bulls tip off the 2022-2023 season with an away game on October 19 in Miami against the Heat. Their first home game is Saturday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Don’t forget to check out the website and get your tickets for the 2022-2023 season.
