Chicago Bulls may be destination for superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo
In a league where superstars have a say on where they want to play. Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo may have stirred the pot for Chicago Bulls fans and the rest of the NBA. Giannis has always been viewed as one of the most loyal players in the NBA but in a recent interview, he’s made it known that the Bulls could very well be his home one day.
Giannis does not become a free agent until 2026 and he has a player option for 2025, so he isn’t getting out of his contract anytime soon. But it’s been made evident in this league that if a superstar-caliber player wants out of an organization they will more than likely be accommodated.
In a recent interview on The Sports Zone on Fox 32 Chicago, here’s what Giannis had to say about the possibility of playing for the Bulls.
Giannis harped on how great of an organization the Bulls are and the rich history that the Bulls are known for, while also making it known that he is currently all in with the Milwaukee Bucks. But one comment that won’t go unnoticed is when he stated, ” Everyone would love to play for Chicago, down the line you never know how life brings it, maybe I play for Chicago”.
While all of this is just speculation, it does give Bulls fans something to look forward to, the thought that a top 5 player in the league views the Bulls as a potential landing destination.
Here’s how Giannis Antetokounmpo would propel the Chicago Bulls to championship contention.
Giannis coming to the Bulls would immediately make them championship contenders. His championship pedigree and ability to impact the game at an extremely elite level both defensively and offensively would help the Bulls immensely.
If Giannis finishes out his contract then there is a possibility that he could potentially pair up with Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, forming a three-headed dragon in Chicago that most teams would not be able to compete with. Giannis could also always pull the superstar card and demand a trade with Chicago as his number one preferred option. Fortunately for the Bulls, they have plenty of the assets to get the deal done; the only downside of the trade would mean the possibility of parting ways with one of LaVine or DeRozan. Either way, getting a player of Giannis’s caliber is worth giving up some pieces.
If the Bucks remain competitive and championship contenders then Giannis will more than likely remain with them. But if trouble does arise in Milwaukee don’t be surprised if you see the Greek Freak in a Chicago Bulls uniform.
