After coming off a disappointing season, the Chicago Bulls look to come back revamped and ready to make a playoff run. Unfortunately Bulls legend, Scottie Pippen believes that the run the Bulls seek may not be possible.
In a recent interview on the NBC Sports Bulls Talk Podcast, Rob Schaefer sat down with the former Bulls star and discussed everything Bulls related as well as Scottie’s recent partnership with Dicks to form a giveaway in Chicago. In the midst of all the Bulls talk, the Bulls’ playoff potential came to question, and let’s just say, Scottie had a lot to say on the matter.

Here’s what Scottie Pippen said on the Chicago Bulls’ playoff potential.
"I think in the postseason they sort of fell back into the slot that they’ve been in for the last 10 or 15 years. They’re just not a team that’s built for the postseason. They had some injuries this year, but the other teams out there are continuing to improve.Milwaukee is still gonna be strong, Miami Heat. So even if the improvements that they (the Bulls) are making is a drastic improvements, other teams are making moves too. They’re (other teams) really not giving them (the Bulls) a chance to close the gap."
In Pippen’s eyes, the Bulls are nothing but a first-round exit, a team that will make noise in the regular season and fizzles out come playoff time. He does not believe the Bulls have the firepower needed to compete with some of the top teams in the East such as the Bucks, Heat, Celtics, and so on.
When asked what steps they needed to take to propel them into that contender position, he jokingly stated that they needed to go after Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant. As much as KD would help the Bulls I do not believe he is the answer.
Over the past year, the other contenders in the East are not the only teams making moves, the Bulls have made an abundant amount of moves as well to give them a chance to contend for an NBA championship. The addition of DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and more, are all vital pieces on a championship team.
Although last year left a sour taste for Bulls fans, this year should be promising. If the Bulls can have luck on their side and remain healthy. Then there is no reason why they would not be able to compete with some of the top teams in the East.
Scottie Pippen may not be a believer right now but come next postseason his stance on the Chicago Bulls’ playoff potential may drastically change. So Bulls fans don’t worry, the best is yet to come.
