LaVar Ball believes he knows the Bulls’ missing piece
LaVar Ball has grown accustomed to the inquisitive looks, the perplexed raised eyebrows, and the disingenuous smiles while many laughed behind his back.
After screaming to the mountain tops that Lonzo Ball would become a terrific player in the NBA, LaVar doubled down. Although LaMelo Ball, his youngest son, was forced to take a more unique route to the NBA, LaVar believed that the current Charlotte Hornets’ star would be one of the greatest players the NBA has ever seen.
In addition to making brazen statements over his more well-known sons, LaVar has also gone on record stating that LiAngelo Ball, the most soft-spoken of the bunch, would eventually latch onto an NBA roster.
While LaVar instantly became the butt of nearly everyone’s jokes, his grin only grew wider as his words became prophetic. Presently, Lonzo has become a franchise pillar on the Chicago Bulls. LaMelo, on the other hand, has morphed into one of the more dynamic point guards in the NBA, securing his first All-Star appearance just last season.
As LaVar’s naysayers have gotten increasingly quieter, the loquacious father isn’t done predicting what could be next for his two boys. More than anything, while LaVar believes his two sons have become NBA staples, he envisions a day where both LaMelo and Lonzo will be running the lane on the same team.
“I have a mission,” said LaVar during a recent interview with David Kaplan of NBC Sports Chicago & ESPN. “I’m a make it happen when it happens. I’m going to speak it into existence.”
LaVar doesn’t only envision Lonzo & LaMelo teaming up
As previously mentioned, both Lonzo and LaMelo have experienced significant amounts of success in a short period of time. LiAngelo, on the other hand, has endured a more difficult road.
After going unselected in the 2018 NBA Draft, LiAngelo has made several stops around the NBA’s G-League. When last seen, LiAngelo spent most of his time with the Greensboro Swarm. The 23-year-old capped off his 2021-22 campaign with meager stats, putting up only just 4.6 points a night.
Regardless of LiAngelo’s struggles, LaVar believes he’s on the cusp of breaking through and becoming a staple in the NBA. If LaVar’s words come true once more, he believes that it will be only a matter of time before Lonzo, LaMelo, and LiAngelo all suit up for the same team.
In terms of where LaVar visualizes his plans coming to fruition, the eccentric father shrugged his shoulders. In his view, whoever is willing to sign all three of his sons, will witness an imaginable show on the court.
“They are going to play together,” continued LaVar. “All three of my boys, not just two. All three and y’all are going to see a show you’ve never seen before.”
