The Chicago Bulls got rolled by the Bucks on Tuesday night, with Milwaukee completing the season sweep.

The Bulls entered the game on the cusp of securing a playoff spot for the first time since 2017. They needed one win to clinch a playoff berth. The team knew the magnitude of the game and still came out without the intensity to match Milwaukee.

Thankfully, the Orlando Magic did understood the assignment. The Magic upset the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, making it mathematically impossible for the Cavs to catch the Bulls in the Eastern Conference standings. The loss was Cleveland’s most disappointing of the season.

The Bulls are now set to have either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed in the playoffs … so technically they had a lot to celebrate with the Magic-Cavs result. And the official Magic Twitter account knew that.

The Magic sent a hilarious tweet out to the Bulls after upsetting the Cavs

Ah, yes, the famous sound bite of former Bulls star Joakim Noah ripping Cleveland back in 2010. That’ll forever be a memory for Chicago fans.

But … it wasn’t a celebratory feeling for the Bulls after they were handed a hefty L. After all, they were atop of the Eastern Conference for half the season. The team felt like a contender and looked like a contender, but couldn’t (and still can’t) actually hang with any contenders.

They have now been swept by the Bucks, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers. It didn’t feel like the Bulls secured their own destiny. It was more like a clumsy fall with some luck thanks to the historic ineptitude of every Cleveland sports team.

The Bulls are now 0-18 against the conference’s top three teams — Bucks, Heat, 76ers, Grizzlies, Suns and Warriors — and have a matchup with the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

The team will officially be without Lonzo Ball for the rest of the season after he was ruled out this morning. Zach LaVine is battling knee issues that held him out of Tuesday night’s contest. And the overall chemistry is not great.

Not to mention, Chicago dropped to the sixth seed and are currently set to play the Bucks in the first round of the playoffs. That’s bad, bad news.

At least Bulls fans have this little joke for the time being. Gotta take the wins while they’re there.
