March Madness: 3 Sweet 16 outcomes that favor Bulls in 2022 NBA Draft
1. Arizona Gets Upset
Christian Koloko should be the Bulls’ top priority. At 7-foot-1, Koloko has great footwork down low, speed and court awareness. He’s great in the pick and roll, being able to score from the third hash down to the box. He has a heavy arsenal of low-post moves and is elite at protecting the paint.
He’s the perfect option for the Bulls but may go higher in the draft if he continues playing at this rate in March. Koloko willed the Wildcats to their second-round win over TCU and was always at the right place at the right time, grabbing every needed board and logging second-chance points.
That performance already boosted his NBA Draft stock. The Bulls can’t afford for another stellar performance that might put him out of reach. For that to happen, Arizona will need to lose to Houston. But Arizona has only lost to three teams this season: Tennessee, UCLA and Colorado. Tennessee and UCLA are among the top 16 in adjusted defensive efficiency nationally.
But guess who ranks better than both of them? Houston. The Cougars lead the country in defensive percentage, holding teams to less than 37% shooting from the field. That, coupled with Arizona’s Kerr Kriisa struggling to find his shot, can lead to a Houston upset.
And that’ll potentially keep Koloko in the Bulls’ range.
