5 potential Bulls draft picks fans should watch during March Madness
1. Christian Koloko (Arizona)
You can’t teach height. The NBA is a league for tall people and, at 7-foot-1, Christian Koloko instantly upgrades any team’s interior defense.
Koloko averages 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks per game. He shoots 65% from the field and 79% from the free throw line. As the premier big man for the second-ranked team in the nation, he has anchored their defense and scored when needed.
He plays well off ball, too, freeing up guards and getting separation in the post. He isn’t easily moved off the block and has great hands. For his size, he has great speed and playmaking abilities. He’s an excellent shot blocker and passes well out the low post and high post.
He has great footwork down low, too. In the pick and roll, he can score when receiving the ball from the third hash down to the box. He has a variety of low-post moves, his best being his jump hook. He runs the floor well and take pride in protecting the rim.
Given what the Bulls already have, they won’t need Koloko to be a dynamic scorer or All-NBA defender. They will need him to give them quality minutes off the bench to relieve Vucevic, and he’s capable of doing that right away.
