The Chicago Bulls are back in action in Detroit for a matchup with the Pistons on Wednesday night. The 39-26 Bulls are in fourth place in the East and the 18-47 Pistons are in 14th.

Chicago beat Detroit in early January by 46 points. Nikola Vucevic scored a game-high 22 points (10-of-18 from the field), while DeMar DeRozan had 20 points (8-of-13 from the field) and 12 rebounds.

The Pistons are on a three-game winning streak, most recently beating the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, 113-110. Cade Cunningham led Detroit with 28 points (10-of-25) and added 10 assists. Jerami Grant scored 23 points (8-of-15) while Marvin Bagley III scored 19 points off the bench (9-of-16).

The Bulls beat Detroit on Oct. 20, 94-88, and on Oct. 23, 97-82.

On Wednesday night, Detroit will be without Isaiah Stewart (knee) and Frank Jackson (back). Killian Hayes (adductor) is listed as questionable.

Lonzo Ball (knee), Alex Caruso (wrist), and Patrick Williams (wrist) are out for the Bulls. Nikola Vucevic (hamstring) is questionable.

Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons betting odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBET, the Bulls are 5.5-point favorites over the Pistons. Detroit is +180 on the moneyline and Chicago is -220. The over/under is set at 227.5 points.

Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons prediction

The Bulls are coming off a five-game losing streak, with four of the five losses coming at the hands of elite teams. They lost by an average of six points per contest, but will look to end that tough stretch tonight against a sub-.300 Pistons team.

If Vucevic doesn’t play, the Bulls will look to Thompson to free up DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine in the pick and roll — a role he is more than capable of filling. If he does play, Thompson will come off the bench and be the primary defender on Bagley III.

We’re taking the Bulls -5.5 and over 227 points.

Chicago 130, Detroit 100.
