There are still a few key injuries that the Chicago Bulls are dealing with before the month of March rolls around. The Bulls were one of the more injured teams in the Eastern Conference in the last couple of months of this season. And the key injuries of note remaining for the Bulls have taken out the likes of point guard Lonzo Ball, point guard Alex Caruso, and forward Patrick Williams.

Caruso is the one of note here, though, as he was the most recent injury update for second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls. Donovan updated the injury status of all three of these Bulls players post-All-Star Break. But we got word of the update for Caruso this weekend.

According to a report from Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times this weekend, Donovan noted that Caruso will be resuming “basketball activities” in the next week as he continues to work his way back from a fractured wrist. Caruso was back running in workouts for the Bulls already. But he had yet to resume actual work with the ball up through the end of the All-Star Break even as recent as a few days ago.

Chicago Bulls will reportedly get Alex Caruso up and running in basketball activities this week

Now, it looks like Caruso is set to take the next major step as he rehabs after the wrist procedure he had last month. Caruso had to get surgery on his wrist after the dirty play from Milwaukee Bucks guard Grayson Allen in a Bulls’ loss to their division foe last month. Allen pulled Caruso down mid-air when the former Texas A&M Aggie was going up for a clear basket.

Caruso is obviously a really important part of this Bulls team. The defensive prowess that he and Lonzo bring to the table for the Bulls on the perimeter is hard for really any other guard in this rotation to match.

Following a loss to star point guard Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies at home at the United Center on the night of Feb. 26, the Bulls are sitting on a record of 39-22. Next up for Donovan and the Bulls is a meeting with the first-place Miami Heat on the road on Feb. 28.
