Chicago Bulls guards to consider after Goran Dragic signs with the Nets: Eric Bledsoe

A veteran guard to watch that would certainly draw a lot of interest from Bulls fans if he does hit the buyout market before too long is the former Pelicans and Los Angeles Clippers combo guard Eric Bledsoe. After being dealt by the Clippers to the Portland Trail Blazers ahead of the trade deadline in that big splash deal that saw Robert Covington and Norman make their way to LA, Bledsoe is a real candidate to be waived in the very near future.

If Bledsoe does hit the buyout market, even as soon as next week, he would certainly be one of the most highly-sought after guards for postseason contenders right away. And it makes a ton of sense for the Bulls to be one of those suitors going after Bledsoe if and when he does hit the buyout market.

In a way, there’s actually a lot more that Bledsoe could bring to the table for the Bulls in the latter stretch of the regular season, and in the postseason, compared to another buyout market target such as Dragic. Bledsoe is a more athletic and versatile guard that could occupy a bigger role at this point of his career compared to Dragic.

Bledsoe could definitely come in and make an immediate impact for the Bulls coming off the bench for this backcourt unit. He would obviously be more valuable for a postseason contender such as the Bulls compared to playing for a team like the Blazers that is almost effectively out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference at this point of the season.
