Among the biggest buyout market targets just after the trade deadline passed for the Chicago Bulls was the former Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat veteran point guard and one-time All-Star selection Goran Dragic. It looked like the Bulls were one of the more suitable potential landing spots for Dragic after he was promptly bought out by the San Antonio Spurs post-deadline.

But Dragic would end up signing with another potential title contender in the Eastern Conference in the midst of the All-Star Weekend festivities in Cleveland as he got a deal done with the Brooklyn Nets. The fact that Dragic is signing with the Nets was first reported on Twitter late in the morning of Feb. 21 by Shams Charania of The Athletic/Stadium.

Who the Chicago Bulls could go after on the buyout market with Goran Dragic signing with the Nets?

Dragic signing with the Nets does mean that the Bulls’ front office will need to look elsewhere if they want to add a veteran guard to help this postseason push in the Windy City. It once looked like Dragic could be the answer for the Bulls after the Spurs bought him out (following a deadline week deal that shipped him out of Toronto). But that is obviously all for naught now.

If the Bulls do want to still add a veteran guard to the rotation (likely by way of the buyout market in the days and/or weeks ahead), they’ll need to find some other quality options. There are likely going to be some names that appear on the buyout market that are worthy candidates for the Bulls.

But executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley will have to put in some good work to figure out which potential buyout targets could come their way. Here’s a look into four guards that Bulls might be able to sign after Dragic joins the Nets.
