Chicago Bulls buyout market targets that fit well with DeMar DeRozan: Rodney Hood
One of the potentially most underrated wings that could hit the buyout market this year is the former Milwaukee Bucks veteran shooting guard/small forward Rodney Hood. After essentially turning into a true journeyman of late, Hood’s production did take a decent dip. He’s tried to find a certain level of consistency he used to have in his game since leaving the Portland Trail Blazers a few years ago.
Hood could be a really interesting addition for the Bulls down the stretch this season. He would be one of the most versatile players the Bulls have coming off the bench. And his postseason experience could also be helpful come playoff time.
Around the trade deadline, the Bucks shipped off Hood to the Los Angeles Clippers in the deal that sent veteran power forward Serge Ibaka to Milwaukee. But he was only getting around 14-15 minutes of playing time per night off the bench during his roughly 40 games played with the Bucks before getting dealt to the Clippers.
If the Bulls were interested in bringing Hood aboard if he were to hit the buyout market this year, it would likely come with the intention of a bigger role in this rotation. That could be a volatile proposition depending on where the Bulls wanted to play Hood positionally.
Hood is still someone that can be a threat from beyond the arc, create his own looks as a tertiary scorer, and defend multiple positions. He’s a very switchable player defensively and versatile wing on the offensive end of the floor. Hood could certainly make for a solid addition if he does appear on the buyout market.
