Chicago Bulls dud from electrifying win over the Spurs: Nikola Vucevic

This was yet another game for the Bulls where it was truly difficult to find a dud. There wasn’t really any one Bulls player that stuck out as the worst on the floor on a consistent basis. But we still have to give it to one.

And that’s why it went to the two-time All-Star center Nikola Vucevic. There were certainly some impressive stats that Vucevic gave the Bulls in this game. But it also would be nice to see Vucevic get going shooting from beyond the arc and commanding the ball when he’s got the matchup advantage down low when star shooting guard Zach LaVine is missing for the Bulls.

Vucevic didn’t really have much aggressiveness down low on a consistent basis or rhythm shooting from beyond the arc in this game. That’s why it was so important for the likes of Coby and rookie point guard Ayo Dosunmu to step up in increased scoring roles.

Yet, Vucevic did give the Bulls 25 points on 12-of-24 shooting from the field, just 1-of-7 from beyond the arc, and he didn’t have any attempts from the free-throw line.

The Bulls also got a game-high 16 rebounds, five assists, no steals, one block, and a game-high five turnovers in this win over the Spurs. There were mixed results that Vucevic gave the Bulls in this one. His five turnovers were almost very costly for this team, as were his six misses from beyond the arc.

But the Bulls still got it done when it mattered. And Vucevic did help with his offensive contributions down low at different points in this game. He was also very solid on the boards.
