There will continue to be Bulls rumors pouring in concerning the buyout market in the days and weeks ahead after a quiet trade deadline for this front office. And one of the early names to watch that has a connection to the Bulls it appears is the former Toronto Raptors veteran point guard Goran Dragic.

On trade deadline day (Feb. 10) the Raptors shipped off the 35-year-old Slovenian Dragic to the San Antonio Spurs. And the early indications are pointing to the Spurs buying Dragic out in the next few days.

Dragic looked to be a candidate to appear on the buyout market this season most of the way. Getting traded from Toronto San Antonio likely just does more to confirm this rumor. It will be interesting to see how long this move could take to actually come to fruition, though.

Moreover, according to a report from Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald on Twitter late in the morning of Feb. 10, one team that looked like they could be a Dragic suitor could be dropping out. The Miami Heat looked like they could be a suitor for Dragic if he hits the buyout market. But that might not be the case anymore.

Bulls rumors adding Goran Dragic to the list of potential buyout market targets

ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski first reported on Feb. 10 that four potential suitors for Dragic, if the Spurs buy him out, are the Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Clippers. It seems like most of the smoke surrounding this conversation at the moment has Dragic going to the Mavericks. But there’s no concrete proof of that being the top landing spot for him.

Knowing how active the Bulls could be on the buyout market, it makes sense they would be connected to Dragic. But adding a veteran point guard to this rotation by way of the buyout market also might not be the top priority for the Bulls’ front office.

The Bulls wound up holding steady at the deadline this year, which was a major shift in narrative compared to last season. Any potential rotation adjustments that come for the Bulls are going to probably have to come on the buyout market in the next few weeks.
