Underrated bigs for the Chicago Bulls to pursue at the last minute: Richaun Holmes

Somewhere between the narratives of the Bulls pursuing bigs like Millsap and Noel at the trade deadline comes the Sacramento Kings and power forward/center Richaun Holmes. It certainly makes a lot of sense for the Bulls to be able to add a proven and potent big man such as Holmes to the frontcourt unit.

There likely wouldn’t be many games where Holmes would be in the starting unit, at least as long as two-time All-Star center Nikola Vucevic is healthy. But he has proven in recent years with the Kings that he is very capable of providing value in spots as a starting power forward or center.

The Kings were already one of the busiest teams around the league on the trade block with the deadline approaching on Feb. 10. They made that big splash move with the Indiana Pacers earlier this week that saw standout point guard Tyrese Haliburton and sharpshooter Buddy Hield make their way to Indy. In return, the Kings landed star big man Domantas Sabonis.

Holmes might be one of the most capable big men that the Bulls could pursue on deadline day. But if the Kings are already openly shopping Holmes on deadline day, then there are likely going to be a number of other contenders looking into what it will cost to trade for him. There would probably be a lot of competition coming the Bulls’ way here.
