3 underrated bigs the Bulls should target last minute at the trade deadline
On the afternoon of Feb. 10, the Chicago Bulls will see the trade deadline hit, and their final chance to make any moves on the trade block will arrive. Yet, in the last couple of days, it feels like any rumors concerning the Bulls have really quieted down compared to the noise we were hearing just a few months ago.
Executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley wouldn’t shock many Bulls fans at this point if they end up holding steady at the deadline. At this point, it feels like the Bulls will end up being more active on the buyout market than they will on the block at the trade deadline.
Two factors look to be contributing to this development for the Bulls’ front office in terms of the strategy to build out the rotation moving forward this season. The first is the recent bad waves of injuries the Bulls experienced that knocked out the likes of point guard Alex Caruso, point guard Lonzo Ball, forward Derrick Jones Jr., rookie point guard Ayo Dosunmu, etc. for a good while.
Which underrated bigs make sense for the Chicago Bulls at the last minute on deadline day?
The Bulls have fewer options as to what they can do on the trade block knowing that there are fewer resources available to work with at this point of the season.
And the second reason why the Bulls are likely to be more active on the buyout market than the trade block is the fact that it would be less costly to make minor adjustments to the rotation.
Yet, if the Bulls do address any area of need at the trade deadline, it looks like it could be adding some depth to the frontcourt unit. The backcourt likely won’t have much movement at the deadline for the Bulls.
With that in mind, here’s a look into three last-minute targets to watch among underrated bigs for the Bulls at the trade deadline.
