Chicago Bulls studs from resounding win over the Hornets: DeMar DeRozan

There were so many worthy candidates for the two studs spot on this list that it was difficult to rule out the likes of star shooting guard Zach LaVine, center Nikola Vucevic, wing Malcolm Hill (efficient in his limited minutes off the bench), etc. But you can’t go without picking star forward DeMar DeRozan from yet another 30+ point performance for him on this night.

The five-time All-Star and MVP contender DeRozan stayed red hot on the offensive end of the floor for the Bulls in this win over the Hornets. DeRozan just had his fourth consecutive 30+ point game. He also now has 119 points on better than 60 percent shooting from the field in the last three games.

DeRozan gave the Bulls a game-high 36 points in this win over the Hornets on an efficient 13-of-19 shooting from the field, 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 7-of-10 from the free-throw line. Going 75 percent on four attempts from deep is a special night in any game for DeRozan.

On a huge night for DeRozan, he also gave the Bulls five rebounds, four assists, no steals, no blocks, and five turnovers. Really the only aspect of this game that you could fault DeRozan for was his five turnovers. But that is going to happen from time to time with this much usage.

Any night where the Bulls get 63 points, a dozen rebounds, and nine assists on better than 50 percent shooting from the field and from beyond the arc from the duo of DeRozan and LaVine, the team is going to win more often than not. That is true despite the Bulls missing the likes of rookie point guard Ayo Dosunmu, along with the likes of standout two-way point guards Alex Caruso and Lonzo Ball.
