Chicago Bulls dud from resounding win over the Hornets: Coby White

This was one of those nights for the Bulls when it is nice to say that the dud was incredibly difficult to pick. In fact, I would say that the Bulls really didn’t have any true duds in this win over the Hornets.

The fact that third-year point guard Coby White occupies this spot on the list while coming up with a night where he had no turnovers and shot nearly 50 percent from the field on 14 attempts is a testament to just how good the Bulls were top-to-bottom. Yet, Coby’s shooting 3-of-10 from beyond the arc and struggling with on-ball perimeter defense at times did land him in the dud spot.

As a side note, I would say that the real dud in this game for the Bulls was the fact that we didn’t see power forward Tyler Cook at all whenever the Bulls were struggling to defend some of the better forwards/bigs for the Hornets such as Miles Bridges, Nick Richards, and/or Kelly Oubre Jr.

Yet, it would be nice to see Coby improve his perimeter defense when he has manageable matchups. But that’s not to say that a lot of his defensive matchups were all that easy to deal with throughout this game.

Coby came up with 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field in this game, 3-of-10 from beyond the arc, and he didn’t have any attempts from the free-throw line. He also gave the Bulls three rebounds, three assists, no steals, one block, and no turnovers. Coby was a solid +19 on the night.

All in all, Coby was more of a net-neutral oftentimes in this game for the Bulls. He just gets the dud in comparison to the rest of this rotation in this win over the Hornets.
